Private collection of Darryn Lyons

Furr said at the time that this nude was painted, that ‘Venus’ was his response to Manet’s Olympia for the period of 2004. It was commissioned for Darryn Lyons and features the Australian model Petta Longstaff.

The painting was exhibited in 2006 at the 'Art of Love' – Arndean Gallery, Cork Street, London.

In 2004 this work was featured on a pair of Terry de Havilland Wedges. The artist was friends with shoe designers Terry and Liz de Havilland.
