Furr attended St Anslems college, grammar school in Orton, Birkenhead.

Age 14 yrs Furr created this image of sheer animal power - unbridled horses galloping and stomping through crashing waves. Created in black ink because these were the specifications for the annual school magazine 'The Anselmian', which was printed in black and white.
