One of the three joke paintings created in 2006 that deal with the serious themes of existence, death and the passing/ freezing of time in visually comic way

Here the idea of time and the passing of time is crystallised in a comic book style depiction of a painted clock. The hands and second hand of the clock are frozen and never move, maybe becoming an allegory of Art itself.

"I thought again about these three 2006 paintings recently. I was 40 yrs old at the time and was probably having a kind of mid life crisis as they all deal with death and existence. I suppose as an artist, the colours are my hours, my life, and I can 'still' time for the future - in a work of art which is a production of my existence. Time or a moment is frozen, here in a comedy way. I think they are funny." - Furr 2024
