This portrait was created while Furr was in the second year of Fine Art at Leicester Polytechnic and features his fellow fine art student Chris Tosic. It was created aside 'The Guitarist 1988" as a study. Furr was looking at Sandro Botticelli tempera renaissance "Portrait of a Young Man c. 1483" at the time and was interested in the simplicity and direct gaze of the subject. The lighting is swapped to the right side in Furr's portrait.
