In 1988, Furr who was studying Fine Art at De Montfort University (then Leicester Polytechnic) created a super8 live action animation to a sixties track by the male vocalist Scott Walker. 'Rosemary' incorporated slow motion , stop frame techniques and different coloured cellophane using a 3d set as its base. The set incorporated hand coloured film stills/photocopies and drawings coloured with inks and PVA .
This image is a still of part of the set.
"I chose Leicester originally because it was a broad based course. I could try lots of different things including film and I loved this experiment. I love the moving image and film has a romantic quality all of its own."
