Oil on canvas 30 x 24ins

"An interesting concept. The photographs of my friend Gary in my studio in Lower Brown Street were taken during the photographic session for my painting 'The Artists Studio' hence the lemons on the table which was a reference to 'Luncheon on the Studio' by Manet. I decided to paint this as an aside. I added John Lennon. I was taking reality and fantasy and combining them in the same space. I was imagining what it would be like if the Beatles were in the room almost like virtual reality. My guitar appears invisible as if the sky were behind it." - Christian Furr

This painting was exhibited during lockdown at "John Lennon At 80" curated by Harry Pye at Vout-O-Renne’s, London gallery on 27 September 2020
